PROFESSIONALIZATION

The educational model of TecnoCampus’s Bachelor Degree and Postgraduate programs is underpinned by the fundamental pillar of professionalization. For this reason, all of the qualifications that are taught are linked to a profession and have the ultimate objective of enabling graduates to gain quality employment positions.

In this respect, all of the qualifications are overseen by a degree board formed of key companies in the sector. The board works to ensure that the study programme adapts to the needs of the market at all times. It should be noted that the TecnoCampus model (encompassing the campus and a Business Park where around 100 companies are based) provides graduates with a broad range of practical placements and employment opportunities.

INTERNATIONALIZATION

The second fundamental pillar on which the model is based is internationalization, which strives to ensure that the graduates are competent professionals in a globalized world. Internationalization is achieved through elements such as: i) language programmes with courses in English and German, soon to be joined by Chinese and Russian; ii) the ERASMUS international mobility programme; iii) international joint honours degrees offered for some of the programmes of study within a network of international universities; iv) international internships with programmes such as IAESTE and international grants.

The Professional Careers and International Relations Office is responsible for enabling all of the students (both current students and graduates) to have best possible opportunities to start a career that takes advantage of their studies, as well as having the option of gaining international experience.
 

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The third pillar of the model is entrepreneurship, with the goal of enhancing and creating entrepreneurial talent. The competencies involved in entrepreneurship are the defining cornerstone of a campus which brings together graduates in business, technology and healthcare, making TecnoCampus a unique institution in the country.

The entrepreneurship model is underpinned by entrepreneurial skills that are taught as part of all of the degree courses offered at the university centres as core subjects. These can optionally be complemented with workshops and enhancement programmes such as Innoemprèn Universitari, designed for campus students, and the Weekend Challenge.

In addition, the campus has a pre-incubator platform for business initiatives which is free of charge and exclusively for students. Once they have graduated, students that wish to start a career as entrepreneurs have access to the TecnoCampus Incubator.
 

VIRTUAL CAMPUS

The educational model is complemented by an intensive use of the Internet and the Virtual Campus, based on the services offered by the Digital Factory. Some of the Bachelor Degree programs are blended, ensuring that efforts made in terms of in-person sessions focus on lectures, practical activities and laboratory work.
 

PERSONAL MONITORING AND ACTIVE TUTORIALS

One of the assets that TecnoCampus emphasizes in its pedagogical approach is the appropriate support for students. The aim is to provide guidance for students, particularly during the first year, thereby minimizing the drop-out rate. This approach is possible thanks to the size of the campus, which facilities the provision of the appropriate support services.

As a matter of course, all students that undertake studies are assigned a tutor throughout their degree course, within the framework of the TecnoCampus Tutorial Programme, which ensures that students have a point of reference to help them achieve the best performance in their studies and enhance their subsequent employability.
