New edition of the Antena TrenLab Awards

The selected projects will be innovative, technological, and sustainable proposals of new mobility services or those which have a positive impact on existing ones, including the transportation of both passengers and goods.

The 4 challenges you can apply for:

Three of the awards are for addressing operational and current challenges of Renfe / Rodalies de Catalunya and the fourth collects disruptive ideas from the market.

Railway Station Experience

operational challenge

Prize: €40.000

We look for technological solutions that promote universal accessibility for all people, regardless of functional diversity, situation or condition. We want to minimize the distinction between citizens and overcoming the identification of "adapted routes".

Likewise, we seek to encourage the use of the train and public transport in general, through the combined use of different modes of transport, mainly those that pollute less.

  • Improve universal accessibility for all people

We look for solutions that extend the approach to accessibility from different perspectives and from the different needs of citizens. These are both solutions that improve physical accessibility to the train for all people, as well as those more focused on signalling, supports, channels and the type of information.

  • Encourage the use of the train as a mode of intermodal transport for the Maresme

We look for solutions that make it easier for the traveler to have a view of all the intermodal options available to them, paying specific attention to the orographic and geographical characteristics of the Maresme.

  • Adapt intermodality to new specific needs and mobility habits

We are looking for intermodality solutions capable of responding to the new mixed mobility habits of the population, both from a spatial and virtual point of view.

Customer Happiness

operational challenge

Prize: €40.000

We look for solutions that make possible the adequacy and adaptability of rail transport to the different uses and mobility needs of any person. Ensure continuous and real-time attention in any situation of the daily operation of the service.

  • Improve the travel experience

We are looking for solutions that allow us to take advantage of a strengthened travel community whose identity and route can be known.

  • Incentivize and reward the use of rail transport

We are looking for solutions and tools through which to reward the loyalty and commitment of Renfe users.

  • Personalize the experience through the adaptation/diversification of the spaces

We are looking for solutions that allow rail services to adapt to specific needs, especially in the new context of mobility and new habits of the population.

Safety Rail

operational challenge

Prize: €40.000

We look for solutions to improve security conditions, especially from a gender perspective, and promote civic attitudes of users in relation to infrastructure and people, favoring a coexistence environment based on trust.

  •  Strengthen the "Traveller Community"

We seek solutions that allow us to take advantage of the benefits of a strengthened travel community. We believe that the sense of community strengthens trust, especially if we talk about the community traveling together (on the same train).

  • Identification and reporting of uncivil and aggressive attitudes, especially from the perspective of gender violence.

We are looking for solutions that increase security (violence) and reduce incivility.

  •  Improve the security conditions of intermodal transition spaces

We look for solutions that make the spaces where the change of modality takes place (intermodality spaces) friendlier and safer and allow the perception of "waste" of time to be minimal.

Keep it Open!

Disruptive challenge
Prize: €30.000

We are looking for disruptive startups that develop solutions not yet widely implemented in the railway sector based on new technologies (metaverse, virtual reality, robotics etc.) or trends (quantum computing, drones, etc.) among others.
