New edition of the Antena TrenLab Awards

The first edition of the Antena TrenLab Awards was born in 2022 as part of the collaboration between Renfe, Mataró City Council and the TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme Foundation to promote territorial innovation in the field of sustainable mobility, linked to the railway sector. 

3 entrepreneurial projects will be chosen annually to enter the 6-month acceleration program, which includes the possibility of testing the solution in the Mataró-Maresme area. You can see the winners of the 1st and 2nd editions and program details here.

Challenges and prize allocation

With a global endowment of €75.000, four annual awards will be offered to entrepreneurial projects that provide ideas and solutions to improve mobility, especially at the local level.  

The selected projects will be innovative, technological, and sustainable proposals of new mobility services or those which have a positive impact on existing ones, including the transportation of both passengers and goods.

Inclusive & Accessible Mobility

Prize: €25.000

Innovative technological solutions are sought that promote universal accessibility and the inclusion of all people, regardless of their functional diversity, situation or condition. To eliminate distinctions between citizens and make the Maresme a more accessible and inclusive region for all its inhabitants and visitors.

The objectives are:

-A Maresme without barriers: Improve universal accessibility and the inclusion of people.

-Intermodal mobility without limits: Encourage the use of the train as a mode of intermodal transport in the Maresme.

-A train at the forefront: Adapt the train to the new needs and habits of mobility. 

 

Customer Experience

Prize: €25.000

We look for innovative solutions to improve and adapt rail transport to the different mobility needs of any person. We are interested in practical and creative proposals that can transform the rail service and turn each journey into a unique and personalized experience, meeting the individual needs of each passenger in real time.

The objectives are:

-Transformation: The innovative and disruptive character of the proposal is highlighted, seeking to go beyond incremental improvements.

-Centrality in the user: It puts the passenger at the center of the experience, designing solutions that meet your needs and expectations.

-Holistic approach: Various aspects are addressed to improve the rail experience as a whole, from the journey itself to customer loyalty. 

 

Safety Rail

Prize: €25.000

Rail transport must be a safe and reliable space for all passengers. For this reason, we embark on the search for innovative solutions that transform the railway service, making it safer, more inclusive and fostering a more supportive and respectful community of users.
 

The objectives are:

-More security: Improve safety conditions in general.

-More civility: Promote civic attitudes between trips, denouncing uncivil ones

- Safe and accessible intermodality: adapt intermodality to new specific needs and mobility habits. 
 

 

Available Services for the winners during the Programme

  • Tailor-made Acceleration plan for 6 months.

  • Access to a network of professional mentors composed of experts from the organising entities, who will support their project development 

  • Access to the TecnoCampus Technology Park and their own working space at the TecnoCampus Antena TrenLab centre to develop their business projects within a maximum stay of six months.

  • A chance to try out the solution in the city of Mataró.

  • Ad hoc analysis of different financing and internationalization sources for their project

  • Support for the dissemination of the project in the media, conferences and congresses

Preferential access to the spaces and services of the TecnoCampus Technology Park 

Link to Cluster InMove by Railgurp that will allow its positioning in the mobility sector, during the year following the end of the program. 

Requirements for participation

Project

Any SME or Micro-SME with an innovative, technological, and sustainable project that has a minimum viable product and meets the challenges described 

Acceleration programme

Winners will make the commitment to attend the Acceleration Programme. It will be face-to-face at the Antena TrenLab centre in Mataró (Barcelona) 

Area of ​​influence

Winners will have the predisposition to test their solution mainly in Mataró and its area of influence

On October 7, 2024, after the submission deadline, the submitted documentation was reviewed.

On 8/10, the list of candidates admitted and excluded from participation by category was published, as well as the need for amendments or clarifications to the information provided.

The people or companies included in this list had 3 working days to correct the defect and/or attach the mandatory documents.

Yes, as long as the head office or subsidiary is in Spain, you can participate in the acceleration program at the Antena TrenLab headquarters and you are willing to develop your solution mainly in Mataró and its area of ​​influence.
During the 6 month programme, we will try to concentrate all face-to-face sessions within the same week each month.

For all awards you need a degree of maturity of the technological solution and have a proof of concept (TRL level 3 minimum).
