The Healthy Campus is a transversal project of the Tecnocampus, promoted in 2016 by the School of Health Sciences (ESCS) of the Tecnocampus Mataró-Maresme (UPF) that aims to promote the health of the university community through the design, development and evaluation of strategies that promote healthy habits within the university community (students and staff).

The initiatives are based on intersectorality, empowerment and participation, equity, a holistic view of health, as well as the viability and sustainability of the proposed strategies. From 2019 the Sustainable perspective was added to the project Healthy Campus.

The project is part of the lines of health-promoting universities (Tsouros, 2001) and joins the Network of Healthy Universities of Catalonia (US.CAT):

  • Enhance the university as a health-promoting environment of the university community and society as a whole.
  • Encourage the Research and Teaching in Health Promotion.
  • Favor the exchange of experiences in Health Promotion.
  • Promote and encourage the joint work among public health agencies, community institutions, and universities.
  • Agree strategic and work lines to carry out a health-promoting university project.
  • Enable the elaboration and development of common projects in the strategic lines of the Network.
  • Enhance the international participation.
  • Foment the offer of services and activities aimed at promoting the health of the University Community.

In thescope organizational, this project is led by a transversal team of PDI and is organized as follows:

Strategic plan

The new strategic plan Healthy and Sustainable Campus 2019-2022 it contemplates 3 axes, 6 strategic lines and 40 actions. The elaboration of this new plan is based on the assessment made of the previous plan (2015-2018) which has served as a starting point for redesigning the new actions.

The main novelty with respect to the previous plan (2015-2018) is the integration of sustainability criteria and the perspective of equality in all actions of Healthy and Sustainable Campus.

  • Alba Pardo Fernández, PhD

    Healthy and Sustainable Campus Coordinator

    PhD in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFE). Expert in health promotion and healthy lifestyle. Researcher in the evaluation of the lifestyle of the university community. PDI of the Escuela Superior de Ciencias de la Salud in the area of ​​health promotion and physical activity.


  • Helena M Hernández-Pizarro, PhD

    Areas of the evaluation of the interventions and promotion of the health of the working personnel

    PhD in Economics, specializing in public economics and health. Expert in evaluating health interventions. Permanent teaching and research staff at the School of Social and Business Sciences in the areas of marketing and research methodology.


  • Anna Castells Molina

    Area of ​​student health promotion and coordination committee

    Professor of the School of Health Sciences of the Tecnocampus, she teaches the degrees of Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport (CAFE) and the Double degree Physiotherapy-CAFE. His specialty is the theory and practice of motor play, acrobatics and didactic aspects.

    Communication and social networks area

    Professional in the marketing, public relations and advertising sector, associate professor at the School of Social and Business Sciences in the marketing area of ​​the TecnoCampus and external communication consultant for the Healthy Campus committee.


  • Elena Mas Carbonell

    Social networking area and management support.

    Third-year student with a double degree in Business Administration and Marketing and Digital Communities. She currently works as a fellow supporting the coordination and management of Healthy Campus, as well as the management of communication, marketing and social media.
