What are you looking for?
It all started with a creative challenge: how could we put sound to the essence of TecnoCampus? We decided to open a participatory process to the entire community with the "Produce the institutional music of TecnoCampus" contest.
From all the proposals received, a jury chose the three finalists, and the voting phase was opened among the entire community. With a total of 181 votes registered, the piece by Carles Jorquera, a student of the Degree in Audiovisual Media, was the one that best captured the energy of the campus. Although the competition included a prize of accommodation on the Costa Brava, courtesy of the competition sponsor (the university residence Atenea Living) and €150 for the art of TecnoCampus, the most important part of the project was still to come: the production, recording and dissemination phase.
Once the winning piece was chosen, the project entered a production phase at the TecnoCampus studios. The process consisted of three key stages:
Arrangements: Based on the student's proposal, he and Professor Àngel Valverde, a specialist in the subject and professor of the Degree in Audiovisual Media, worked on the arrangements.
Recording real instruments: To give "soul" and warmth to the composition, synthetic elements have been replaced by live recordings with high-end equipment and the help of professional string musicians.
Mix and professional master: Every sonic nuance has been worked on to ensure that the piece has the power and clarity of a high-level production.
