The scope of the surgical arena is expanding more and more and requires a profile of specialist professionals who are able to adapt to the requirements of this field of work.
Technological advances in surgery, the complexity of care, and the vulnerable situation of patients undergoing surgery are factors that require nursing professionals with specific training based on scientific evidence; in order to provide safe, effective, and quality care throughout the surgical procedure.
For this reason, and taking into account the development of a new awareness of multidisciplinary teamwork in the surgical area, training is required that updates and enriches the abilities of nursing professionals regarding care and techniques in surgery, without considering their specialty.
The Specialization Diploma in Personal Care in the Surgical Process deepens the knowledge, skills, skills, attitudes and values of surgical nursing.
With a program that gradually develops conceptually, the syllabus introduces the student to the model of surgical nursing in the health system, the organization of work or the characteristics of the space and instruments of the operating theatre, even the benchmark in terms related to surgical nursing such as asepsis, infection, disinfection and sterilisation, pre, intra and post operative care, sutures, anaesthesia, etc.

- The Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital is a public centre that provides highly complex health care to the 800.000 people living in Barcelonès Nord and the Maresme, as well as some citizens of other Catalan territories depending on the medical condition.
