What is Start-UPFlama?

It is a program to support the creation of innovative companies co-organized by the UPF and the TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme. It is mainly aimed at students and graduates of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). The aim of the program is to promote entrepreneurship in the university community by harnessing the creativity, initiative and knowledge of the participants, while helping them to create innovative companies that bring wealth and well-being to society.

Through a complete program of training, support and mentoring Business ideas that arise among the university community are promoted and their viability is validated.

Who is it for?

Students

Students who are studying for a degree or master's degree at the UPF or the TecnoCampus

UPF graduates

Graduates of any UPF or TecnoCampus course during the last four academic years.

Other candidates

Other candidates, as long as they are part of collective nominations in which at least half of the team is made up of UPF students or UPF graduates from the last four academic years.

Phases of the program

Selected projects are supported to devise their value propositions and business models following the model Business Model Canvas.

A selection committee chooses the projects with the most potential to move on to the second training phase. Key aspects of entrepreneurship are addressed, such as financial management, marketing, negotiation or pitch presentations.

The jury chooses the winning teams that, in addition to the prize for each edition, also receive support from UPF and TecnoCampus to carry out their incorporation as companies.

In addition, the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will receive advisory services on intellectual, industrial property and legal matters, valued at up to €2.000, offered by the collaborating firm H&A | Industrial and Intellectual Property Experts.

Also free access to the Openspace of the TecnoCampus Pre-Incubator, for 6 months and, if the company is established, the option to continue in the incubator with a 50% bonus for a maximum of 6 additional months (subject to availability).
