The TecnoCampus is a university centre affiliated to Pompeu Fabra University and a technology park located in the city of Mataró (Barcelona). It is a unique space dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship with more than 30 years of expertise.

Privileged location

Mataró, capital of the Maresme region, is a lively city, in constant transformation and with an important cultural heritage that gives it its own personality. Its privileged geographical situation - on one side the sea and on the other the coastal mountain range - makes Mataró's climatic conditions ideal for enjoying the city.

It is a city with good connections to the metropolitan area and the rest of the regions of Catalonia. The communications network makes access to the city easy, both by public and private transport. Barcelona is 30 *kilometres from the City.

History

The city of Mataró has the privilege of having its origin in Roman times. The valuable heritage of this period is manifested in the Roman town of Torre Llauder, from the end of the XNUMXst century BC, and in the latest finds in the old quarter. Strolling through the streets of the city centre you can take a quick tour through its history, a tour that from the ancient Roman Iluro allows us to also enjoy the Baroque, find colonial architectural influences and contemplate an outstanding example of the modernism of the hand of one of its greatest representatives: the Mataró architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Mataró is home to Gaudí's first work, the Nau Gaudi, was the first work built by the famous architect now turned into a contemporary art museum.

Quality of life

Mataró is a city to live in. Everything invites you to have a good time, both during the day and at night, especially in summer: the careful and diverse gastronomy, the highlight of which is the traditional dish cuttlefish with peas; the seafront, with the marina and fishing port, which has more than a thousand moorings; the restaurants; the terraces; the beaches. The town also offers visitors a wide range of commercial activities: traditional Mediterranean markets and shops, where you can find all kinds of products, international brands, gift items and design products.

Enterprising city

The launch of the scientific and innovation park TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme in 2010 has strengthened the city's entrepreneurship support model with the aim of stimulating the creation and recruitment of talent and companies in the territory.

The TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme is constituted as an ecosystem for innovation that offers global support from training to the creation and subsequent consolidation of companies where pioneering programs are offered in the promotion of the entrepreneurial spirit and support of future entrepreneurs to develop their innovative business ideas.

Its mission is to contribute to the economic and social growth of the territory linked to Mataró and the Maresme, through a comprehensive model of knowledge generation, training, business and innovation. For this, two types of central objectives are assumed:

  • Consolidate highly professional higher education, committed to the development of the people who make up the TecnoCampus community.
  • Manage a technological and entrepreneurial park that helps to improve the competitiveness of companies, innovation and internationalization, at the same time that it becomes a link between the university and the company.
