Presentation

The degree in Mechanical Engineering seeks to train multidisciplinary professionals capable of designing, directing and coordinating activities related to mechanical engineering and mechatronics, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit and adaptation to different work environments.

The course is divided into eight semesters that include basic core subjects (60 ECTS), compulsory (132 ECTS) and optional modules (24 ECTS), and an end-of-course project (24 ECTS). All technical subjects include practical classes, either in the classroom itself or in specialised labs.

 

Goals

The aim of this degree is to train students to acquire, among other things, the skills necessary for the exercise of the profession of industrial technical engineer, in accordance with the provisions of Law 12/1986 on professional attributions. and Ministerial Order CIN / 351/2009, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that qualify for the exercise of the profession of Industrial Technical Engineer.

In the exercise of their profession, future graduates may:

  • Design, implement and industrialize mechanical equipment complying with technical, economic, quality and safety requirements.
  • Design and develop procedures and selection of materials, systems or industrial processes in order to optimize their operation.
  • Design, operate and manage an installation, system, component or process in the field of mechanics.
  • Write and sign projects that have as their object any of the above aspects, as well as direct the activities contained in these projects.
  • Prepare studies, reports, valuations, surveys, measurements, calculations and other similar work related to their field of activity.
  • Perform tasks of management, organization and direction of industries and laboratories.
  • Exercise teaching in its various degrees in the cases and terms provided by the corresponding regulations.

The Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the TecnoCampus University Center has obtained favorable accreditation in 2021 from the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia (AQU). Accreditation is the verification, based on an external visit, that the degree is being developed as planned in the verification.

With this recognition, degrees from this centre guarantee teaching quality, following the standard set by the Agency for all universities.

To get the Mention in Intelligent Manufacturing in Industry 4.0 of the degree the student must take 28 optional credits defined specifically by the itinerary of Industry 4.0. These credits are counted within the 240 that the student must take to complete the degree.

Admission profile

Students who are going to study the Degree in Mechanical Engineering must have interest and enthusiasm for the world of mechanics, and its multiple technological and industrial applications. These studies are suitable for students who have previously demonstrated, in the courses that have given them access (Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, etc.), a good capacity for mathematical reasoning, as well as abstraction and problem solving. It is also recommended that they have facility for spatial conceptualisation, the use of computer tools, and sufficient knowledge of English.

Career opportunities

Analysis, design and testing of machines, engines and mechanical and mechatronic systems, development of robotic systems, design and calculation of structures, constructions and industrial facilities and techniques of manufacturing and production organization. Integration in production and service companies, in areas such as maintenance, design, production, automation and consulting.

Reception sessions

A few days before the start of the course, sessions are organised to give a warm benvinguda per als estudiants again access. These days are useful to know the coordinator of the degree, the curriculum, the campus services (Academic Management, Library, UACU, Professional Careers and International Relations) and to make a tour of the facilities with the in order to get to know the different spaces where they will study. Leveling courses and seminars are also organized.

The TecnoCampus offers various forms of payment for undergraduate studies.

Discounts on the price of tuition

The TecnoCampus has an extensive program of scholarships and specific financial aid in the budget of the TecnoCampus Foundation with contributions from the Foundation itself, UPF and other private entities. 

If you meet the academic and / or financial requirements, you can obtain a scholarship for the total or partial amount of tuition for undergraduate studies.

Outstanding scholarships: 

- TecnoCampus Scholarships, with economic and academic criteria, which offer different renewable grants throughout the studies and which are resolved before the end of the pre-registration period in June. 

- General grants from the Ministry. TecnoCampus degree students can apply for grants from the Ministry of Education to obtain different financial aid based on the academic and financial criteria set out in the call. 

- Grants for university students from affiliated centers. The aim of these grants is to partially compensate the student for the costs of university registration for official undergraduate studies.
