Companies that request extracurricular educational cooperation agreements or renewals must pay the management fee for educational cooperation agreements of € 100 (+ VAT), approved by resolution of the General Directorate of TecnoCampus number 54/2019 and that you can see here

However, the following exemptions will be made in the payment of the fee:

  • Companies that have a current lease agreement with the Tecnocampus Foundation or that have a current contract as a member of the TCM Pass collective.
  • Non-profit organizations and organizations.
  • Public administrations, entities and public bodies dependent on them.

In the event that the student unsubscribes from the educational cooperation agreement unilaterally during the first 15 days from the start of the internship, the previous fee will not be charged to the company.

If you have a pre-selected candidate without having published an offer:

  1. Access or register the company on TecnoCampus Talent Bag
  2. NOTE: The student must also be registered on TecnoCampus Talent Bag
  3. The company must fill in the Data Collection, which you will find in the application, in the AGREEMENTS - CREATE AGREEMENT tab.
  4. En a maximum period of 10 days, once validated by the academic leaders, the company will receive the PDF of the agreement to be signed by both the company and the student, and send it to talent@tecocampus.cat

If the student has not reached the maximum of 900 hours of internship in the academic year, the renewal of the agreement can be requested. The steps to follow are:

1. Access TecnoCampus Talent Bag

2. The company must access the AGREEMENTS - MY AGREEMENTS tab.

3. Select the agreement you want to renew (SEE AGREEMENT - at the bottom you will find the tab to renew it)

4. Within a maximum period of 10 days, once validated by the academic managers, the company will receive the PDF of the agreement that both the company and the student must sign and send to talent@tecocampus.cat

The management fee for extracurricular agreements of € 100 + VAT also applies to renewals of agreements.  

The company is the one that selects the student to do internships. The company can carry out the selection process it deems appropriate in order to select the candidate that best suits its needs.   

  • Curricular internships: These are internships that form part of the student's curriculum, ie they give recognition of ECTS. In order for the internship to be curricular, it is essential to be enrolled in the internship subject.
     
  • Extracurricular internships: These are practices that do not recognise ECTS but do bring experience.

Hourly dedication must be compatible with studies. During the teaching period, it is usually not possible to exceed 20 hours per week.

Yes, when students do not have classes they will be able to do more than 20 hours a week, up to a maximum of 40 hours a week. 

Although no minimum amount is established by regulation, a minimum price of €5/hour is recommended, except for Engineering studies, where the minimum financial aid is €6/hour (Industrial and Automatic Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering for Management and Information Systems).

In the event that the internships are remunerated (in any study), the company establishes directly with the student the remuneration he will receive in terms of study aid. The company will make the payment directly to the student and will make the registration and payments to the Social Security. The aid has a minimum income tax withholding of 2%.

As established the Royal Decree Law 2/2023, of March 16 and the Royal Decree Law 5/2023, of June 28, fromJanuary 1 2024 establish the obligation to register all students with Social Securityand practice, so practical remunerated com unpaid.

To the December 2023, it was only established the obligation to join and contribute to Social Security for students doing paid internships, but, from January 1, 2024, too is mandatory and will have to be paid for students in unpaid internships.

Contributions must be made as follows:

PAID INTERNSHIPS:

The registration and payment of the Social Security contributions corresponds to the company hosting the student in practice. There is also a novelty in this regard with the new regulations and the differentiation between curricular and extracurricular practices is no longer made. To the quota, one will be applied 95% reduction in fees due to common contingencies. The minimum monthly contribution base will be the one in force at all times with respect to contribution group 7. 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE NOT PAID: 

In order to avoid possible harm to students who are already doing unpaid internships and due to the proximity of the entry into force of Royal Decree Law 2/2023, of March 16 and Royal Decree Law 5/2023, of 28 of June, TecnoCampus will assume the management and cost of registering with Social Security for students in unpaid internships from January 2024.

If you have paid internships, the company is responsible for registering the student with Social Security.

In the case of unpaid internships, per in order to avoid possible harm to students who are already doing unpaid internships and due to the proximity of the entry into force of Royal Decree Law 2/2023, of March 16 and Royal Decree Law 5/2023, of 28 of June, TecnoCampus will assume the management and cost of registering with Social Security for students in unpaid internships from January 2024.

No, despite being registered with Social Security, unemployment benefits are excluded.

Contributions are paid for:

  • Common contingencies
  • Professional contingencies

Contributions are NOT paid for:

  • Unemployment benefit
  • Wage Guarantee Fund
  • Vocational training

Holidays or days off must be agreed between the company or institution and the student. With regard to exams, tutorials and other academic activities, as internships must be fully compatible with the studies, students have the right to attend. For a medical visit, the student is allowed the necessary time for the visit.

In the case of students who finish their studies and have an active agreement, once they have all the ECTS credits of the degree approved, they cannot continue doing internships, as they will lose their student status and therefore, the agreement will no longer have legal validity. It is the student's responsibility to communicate the completion of studies both to the company and to the Careers Service.

Once the degree is over academic internships cannot be done, as they lose student status. An agreement can only be formalized if you re-enroll in another degree and meet the established academic requirements for internships. 

Two agreements cannot be formalized at the same time, the student can only be in one company.

 

Students have accident, illness and civil liability benefits covered by school insurance. In the case of students over the age of 28, it will be necessary for them to subscribe to private insurance that covers benefits related to these contingencies.

If thestudent feels unwell and they are unable to go to work, they must notify their immediate boss of their absence. The student must present a doctor's note if absent for two days. Hours not worked will not need to be recovered.

The student may not miss more than two days without presenting a MEDICAL DISCHARGE issued by the corresponding GP.

If you have medical leave, the student will have to communicate to the person in charge of their indisposition due to illness, and will have to present a doctor's note.

Once the period of illness has ended, you will have to bring the confirmation reports (if you have any) and the medical discharge that is also issued by the GP and go back to work the next day. 

If the student has been making contributions for 180 days in the last 5 years, he/she will be entitled to receive Temporary Disability. The monthly salary will be paid by the National Social Security Institute and the corresponding bases will be applied:

  • For the first three days nothing will be paid.
  • From the 4th to the 20th the company will pay 60% of the regulatory base.
  • From the 21st to the medical discharge (maximum 18 months), social security pays 75% of the regulatory base.

If the student does not reach the minimum number of days contributed, he will not receive any salary during the time he is on medical leave, but he will not have to recover the hours not worked.

In any case, the company must continue to contribute during the period of non-attendance of the student.

In case of justified cause, the cancellation does not need to be notified 15 days in advance and may take effect the same day it is communicated.

Foreign students: It is the student's responsibility to have all the necessary documentation in force to be able to do internships.

In the case of students from outside the EU, it is also the student's responsibility to have the appropriate residence permit in force to be able to do the internship.

In no case will the University be responsible for the fulfillment of this requirement by the students.

Registration is indefinite. It has no expiry date.
