The total number of credits to be studied is 314 ECTS. The studies are structured in five years in which there are three quarters each year and include basic (64 ECTS) and compulsory subjects (196 ECTS), internship (20 ECTS ) and final project ( 34 ECTS) .

Objectives

The objectives of the double degree are defined from the objectives of the two degrees that make them up.

Objective of the Degree in Business Administration and Innovation Management:
Train professionals with extensive knowledge of business management that enable them to become qualified in order to lead efficiently the business creation and self-managed teams, highlighting their capacity as agents of change in existing businesses and the generation and development of new companies or businesses, thus responding to regional needs; prepared to work in a globalized, multilingual world, thus contributing to the development of the knowledge society so that competitiveness is the key to innovation.

Objectives of the Degree in Tourism and Leisure Management:
Respond to the training needs of existing by facilitating knowledge of useful tools for decision making in the current context of tourism.
Provide a basic and superior teaching corpus enabling technical expertise and executive management of tourist companies and institutions.
Deal with essential aspects for the development of competitive advantages regarding products and destinations.
Create specific expertise profiles that consider both the needs of business management and the management of group issues and, in particular, the application of natural and cultural resources for tourism.
Standardize the transmission of knowledge in the field of tourism avoiding fragmentation of the content to be taught by excessive areas of knowledge.
Create conditions for the development of transdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research lines.

Additionally, in parallel to these general objectives, we will emphasize students to learn and incorporate into their way of action the principles and plans of equality between men and women, who are qualified to apply them in the job that they occupy and the processes of innovation and business development, to raise awareness of the principles of equal opportunities, non-discrimination and universal accessibility for people with disabilities and seek or influence the company to be socially responsible, giving even innovative opportunities to facilitate it, showing an integrative approach that respects the principles and fundamental human rights, promoting equality and peace culture and knowing how to analyze, think, discuss and argue logically in terms of ethical social responsibilities associated with knowledge.

Admission profile

The knowledge that has been accredited through the official access routes will be required, but it is also advisable for theaccess to this double degree that the student has the following skills:

  • Have a ceratin level in at least one foreign language

  • Interest in the environment and sensitivity to the environment.

Tourism competences

  • Interpret the principles of tourism in terms of its spatial, social, cultural, political, labour and economic dimensions and identify the types of tourist spaces and destinations and the main tourism agents operating in them, both public and private.
  • Analyze the impacts of tourism on its economic, social and environmental aspects and provide innovative solutions.
  • Analyze the main political and administrative structures of tourism and interpret the legal framework that regules tourism activities.
  • Turn an "empirical" problem into a research project and draw conclusions.
  • Apply a strong customer service orientation and handle communication techniques.
  • Assess the tourism potential and prospective analysis of its exploitation through innovative management models.
  • Analyze, synthesize and critically summarize the economic and heritage information of tourism organizations.
  • Run different types of tourism entities, defining objectives, strategies, trade policies and managing financial resources.
  • Work in different actual media, providing solutions to the different problems that arise.
  • Gather and interpret meaningful data to make judgments that reflect on relevant business issues and be able to produce a document that allows for the transmission of innovative business information or proposals in the field of tourism.
  • Manage the territorial tourist spaces in accordance with principles of sustainability.
  • Master the operational procedures of the lodging, catering and tourist intermediation companies.
  • Interpret the strategies, objectives and public instruments of tourism planning.
  • Recognize and apply information and communication technologies (ICT) in the different fields of the tourism sector.
  • Interpret a public plan for tourism and the opportunities for the private sector.
  • Planning and managing the human resources of tourism organizations.
  • Recognize the details of the operation of destinations, tourism structures and their business sectors worldwide.
  • Understand the characteristics of cultural heritage management and be able to develop innovative initiatives for their value as a tourist attraction.
  • Detecting the needs for the technical planning of tourist infrastructure and facilities.

A few days before the start of the course, welcome sessions are organized for new students.
