As a sports and fitness professional, are you ready to meet today’s new personal training and physical and sports rehabilitation needs?
People of all ages are increasingly aware of the importance of regularly engaging in exercise and sport as a means of achieving physical and mental well-being. Additionally, athletes and, especially, coaches know the importance of establishing appropriate training stimuli and recovery methods to prevent injuries and ensure a longer healthy sports life.
There is thus a need for professionals with specific training in the field of physical activity and sport sciences. As fitness and sports training professionals, personal trainers have a distinguished status in the field of physical activities and sport. Functional physical and sports rehabilitators for individuals and/or athletes who have suffered or are currently suffering from an injury or illness are needed to address the current shortage of trained professionals in the sector.Llegir més
The combined personal trainer/rehabilitator will be a key figure with the necessary professional skills to plan and prescribe appropriate training methods that prevent injuries arising from the practice of physical activities and sports. He or she will also be able to use functional rehabilitation means and methods to help practitioners or athletes who have suffered an injury and/or illness resume their physical and sport activities.
The Master’s Degree in Personal Training and Physical and Sports Rehabilitation thus aims to produce professionals with the necessary specific skills from the field of physical activity and sport sciences. The programme provides rigorous training to holders of undergraduate degrees to help them improve the skill set recommended by the Professional Management Office of the Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare, whereby ‘physical and sports educators may direct, supervise and assess the practice of physical exercise, adapted to the characteristics, needs and preferences of people of all ages with a health problem, disability or different abilities, helping them follow the indications of health professionals and continue to engage in regular physical activity’.Dr Manuel Vicente Garnacho CastañoDr Noemí Serra PayaAcademic directors of the Master’s Degree in Personal Training and Physical and Sports Rehabilitation
