The teacher Marcos Faúndez has participated in a joint publication with professors from the University of Cambridge, CSIC and other institutions. The work is entitled "Analysis of Fine Motor Skills in Essential Tremor: Combining Neuroimaging and Handwriting Biomarkers for Early Management"and has been published in the second quartile indexed journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience.

Essential tremor (ET) is a highly prevalent neurological disorder characterized by action-induced tremors affecting the hand, voice, head, and / or face. It is important to note that hand tremor is present in almost all forms of ET, which causes an alteration in fine motor skills and a decrease in quality of life. To advance early diagnostic approaches for ET, handwriting and MRI (MRI) tasks offer the opportunity to develop essential early clinical biomarkers. In this study, a new approach to early clinical diagnosis and monitoring of ET based on the integration of handwriting and neuroimaging analysis is presented.
