The innovation day "Digital and sustainable transition of the textile and fashion value chain in Catalonia” is aimed at the Catalan textile value chain.

The TecnoCampus Congress Center, Mataró will host the next October 19, from 16.00:XNUMX p.m., the innovation day "Digital and sustainable transition of the textile and fashion value chain in Catalonia", where experts, companies and organizations of the sector will analyze the meaning and scope of the digital and sustainable transition challenge, as well as the opportunities to facilitate the process towards this transformation. Registrations are open for free in this link.

During the day, real experiences of companies and new technologies that facilitate digitization and sustainable transition processes will also be made known. During the event, the Reimagine Textile awards will also be given to the most innovative initiatives of startups in the textile sector and the textile and fashion value chain.

The day is part of Reimagine Textile, the business innovation program aimed at the textile sector promoted by Mataró City Council, the TecnoCampus and the Eurecat technology center and which has made available to entrepreneurs, startups and companies from textile sector the first incubation facilities and FabLAB (textile manufacturing and prototyping laboratory) for the generation of new companies with new value propositions and prototyping of innovative products.

From the point of view of the competitiveness of the sector, Reimagine Textile brings new sustainable and digital business models, innovation in the generation of new materials and functionalities in the fabric. The incubator and Fablab Reimagine Textile have set up an innovation ecosystem that provides the technological environment, knowledge, contacts and funding opportunities to facilitate the deployment of new opportunities, both for young companies and established companies open to innovation and sustainability. In this sense, Mataró and Maresme, cradle of textiles in Catalonia, become a hub of innovation as a key to the ecological transition and digital transformation of the sector.

Taking advantage of the sectoral meeting, a work session will also be held where those responsible for industrial policy in Mataró, Sabadell, Igualada, Terrassa and Manresa, the main Catalan cities with a textile tradition, together with the presidents of the sector's guilds and clusters and specialized technology centers will agree on the lines of action that together they can promote to gain effectiveness and efficiency in supporting the competitiveness of the sector at a global level at a conjunctural moment in which zero kilometer production is experiencing a comeback. These agents have previous experience of successful collaborative projects, as is the case with the platform www.cooperatextil.com for bringing supply and demand of textile production into contact, which is favoring the return of local production.

The platform is currently also incorporating a job exchange, training and services for digital transformation under the initiative called Cooperatextil 4.0. The day has the sponsorship of companies in the textile value chain, specifically the fashion firm Bobo Choses as SYLVER sponsor, the technical fabric manufacturer SportWear Fabrics and the Colibrí fashion brand as BRONZE sponsors. In the same way, EPSON sponsors a company with solutions for the digitization of the textile sector as a BRONZE sponsor.
