La startup Evix, located in the TecnoCampus, has been chosen winner of the VII edition of the Entrepreneurs and Road Safety Award of the Línea Directa Foundation. The award aims to stimulate and recognize the best initiatives to reduce traffic accidents, road deaths and enhance care for victims.

Evix has developed a new project: a cervical airbag cushion system integrated into bicycle helmets. The device is also extrapolable to other road users. The system is activated before the injurious movement of an accident by inflating a safety cushion that protects the cyclist’s neck by preventing cervical or spinal cord injury.

The company will receive a prize of 20.000 euros and will have the opportunity to receive training and mentoring to grow. At a later stage, Evix will be able to access funding rounds from the Bankinter Innovation Foundation and IESE Business School, an opportunity to meet with professionals and have feedback for its development. The company will also be present at the next edition of the South Summit, where it will be able to access the entrepreneurial ecosystem and get in touch with potential investors.
