The defense of Diego Rodríguez Estrada's doctoral thesis was held on May 6 at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​entitled "The phenomenon of the piano in Ecuador (1910-1930). Production, reception and consumption musical ", directed by Professor Jordi Roquer, coordinator of the Degree in Audiovisual Media.

Estrada's work allows us to know aspects, hitherto unpublished, about the activity of the first major music industries in Ecuador, favoring interesting points of contact with research carried out in Spain in recent years. The panel, made up of professors Francesc Cortès (UAB), Marc Sogues (UOC) and João Silva (EPM), awarded the thesis a grade of Excellent Cum Laude.
