The director of the School of Health Sciences, Carme Rosell, presented the awards to the best university athletes

On April 8 took place at the Teatre Monumental de Mataró la 67th edition of the Sports Night. One of the novelties of this edition was the category of university sport where the best athlete was recognized individually and also the best university team. These awards are the result of an agreement signed between Mataró City Council and the TecnoCampus for the promotion of sports among students.

In this new category the winners in the team category have been the futsal team and the men's 11-a-side football team, both from TecnoCampus and runners-up in Catalonia. At the individual level, the winner was judoka Noelia Jardo, champion of Catalonia University and third in the Spanish University Championships.

The water polo player at the Mataró Swimming Center, Anni Espar, is the best athlete in Mataró in 2021. Espar was named the 2nd best player in Europe in 2021 and was chosen in the ideal team for the Tokyo Olympics. where she won silver and MVP in the Women’s Honor Division of Waterpolo. In addition to the award for the best athlete in 2021, up to 80 awards including trophies, diplomas and special mentions have been given to the most outstanding athletes in each category during Sports Night.
