Presentation of the subject


The course aims to study the elements of the supply chain and their importance through the analysis of decision-making, limitations, risks and future trends.

 

This subject has methodological and digital resources to make possible its continuity in non-contact mode in the case of being necessary for reasons related to the Covid-19. In this way, the achievement of the same knowledge and skills that are specified in this teaching plan will be ensured.

The TecnoCampus will make available to teachers and students the digital tools needed to carry out the course, as well as guides and recommendations that facilitate adaptation to the non-contact mode.

Conformity with REGULATION (EC) no 1071/2009 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of October 21, 2009

In accordance with REGULATION (EC) no. 1071/2009 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of October 21, 2009, which establishes the common rules relating to the conditions that must be fulfilled for the exercise of the profession of transporter by road, this subject complies with what is established in Annex I, within the list of subjects mentioned in article 8, Section G: Elements of Norms and exploitation techniques, working and evaluating within it, the following contents:

G. Standards and technical exploitation

The applicant must, in particular, in relation to the transport of goods and passengers by road:

  1. know the rules on weights and dimensions of vehicles in the Member States, as well as the procedures relating to special transport operations in which these rules do not apply;
  2. to be able to choose, depending on the needs of the company, the vehicles and their different elements (chassis, engine, transmission, braking systems, etc.);
  3. know the procedures for homologation, registration and technical inspection of vehicles;
  4. being able to take into account the measures that must be adopted to fight against atmospheric pollution by motor vehicle emissions, as well as against noise;
  5. be able to draw up periodic maintenance plans for vehicles and their equipment; in relation to the transport of goods by road:
  6. know the different types of maintenance and cargo devices (gates, containers, pallets, etc.) and be able to use procedures and instructions related to cargo loading and unloading operations (cargo distribution, stowage, stowage, etc.);
  7. know the different transport techniques combined rail-road or by wheeled transshipment;
  8. be able to put into practice the procedures to comply with the rules relating to the transport of dangerous goods and waste, in particular, those derived from Directive 2008/68/EC (1), and Regulation (EC) no 1013/2006 ( 2);
  9. be able to put into practice the procedures to comply with the rules relating to the transport of perishable goods, in particular those derived from the Agreement relating to the international transport of perishable goods and the special devices that must be used in this type of transport;
  10. being able to put into practice the procedures to comply with the regulations relating to the transport of live animals.

 

 

Activities and evaluation system


By virtue of the state of alarm and in accordance with the guidelines of Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), according to RD 463/2020, and aware of the impact on "educational and / or training activities", we modify the evaluation adapting to the new scenarios:

- Test and problems (40%)

At the end of each topic, there will be a quiz or problem type exam

- Final exam (60%)

The final exam is compulsory and will be assessed using reasoning questions. The minimum grade to pass the exam is 5 points to average with the continuous assessment (workshops).

For the evaluation of the subject, the activities carried out during the course (40%) and the result obtained in the final exam (60%) will be taken into account, as long as the latter has a minimum grade of 5 points.

RECOVERIES

Students who have failed the subject have the right to retake the final exam. They will not be able to recover the activities carried out during the course.
