Description


Transversal view of the activity of tourist cruises from an operations, logistics and management point of view from a tourist point of view.

This subject has methodological and digital resources to make possible its continuity in non-contact mode in the case of being necessary for reasons related to the Covid-19. In this way, the achievement of the same knowledge and skills that are specified in this teaching plan will be ensured.

The TecnoCampus will make available to teachers and students the digital tools needed to carry out the course, as well as guides and recommendations that facilitate adaptation to the non-contact mode.

Learning outcomes


  • Undertake maritime business projects that allow the creation of new companies or the improvement of existing ones, applying innovative and creative ideas.
  • Show knowledge about the activities of management, direction, control, organization and planning of industries or exploitations related to nautical and maritime transport activities.
  • Show knowledge about the elements that make up the maritime business and the variables that affect it, using the most advanced and innovative techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the role of passenger transport and cruise tourism.

Working methodology


The teaching methodology applied to the subject will be:

  •  Lectures: the teacher will impart the knowledge encouraging participation and debate.
  • Resolution of complementary activities.
  •  Talks by professionals in the Cruise Tourism sector.
  • Visits to the cruise port infrastructure.

THE FUTURE OF TOURIST CRUISES

Learning activities


Continuous assessment activities scheduled throughout the course (resolution of cases, preparation of readings, debates and classes, search for information, ...). It will be necessary to carry out at least 80% of the activities.

Overall work of the subject. Teams of 2-3 people. It will consist of the realization of the knowledge work of the subject.

Evaluation system


The evaluation will consist of the continuous evaluation and the following percentages:

  • 40%: Activities and active participation:

Continuous assessment activities scheduled throughout the course (resolution of cases, preparation of readings, debates and classes, search for information, ...). It will be necessary to carry out at least 80% of the activities.

Overall work of the subject. Teams of 2-3 people. It will consist of the realization of the knowledge work of the subject.

  • 10%: Assistance. You must attend 80% of the sessions.
  • 50%: Final test type exam with an open question. Minimum 4 to average.

Recovery. In the event that the student has failed, he / she will be able to go to the recovery, but only for those parts that he / she has not passed, maintaining the percentages mentioned on the final grade. Students who have not taken the ordinary exam or will not be able to take it will not be able to be evaluated.
