Individualize the course considering age, gender, cultural differences, ethnicity, beliefs and values.

Description

Integrated Nursing I is a compulsory subject that is carried out during the first term of the first year and that continues during the following two quarters with the subjects Integrated Nursing II and III respectively.

In these subjects the student will achieve the necessary first year skills, coming to have a global and cross-sectional view of the nursing profession today taking into account patient safety. Critical thinking and reflective process will be worked on both from the theoretical part through problem-based learning methodology (ABP) and from the part of clinical simulation where new skills and attitudes will also be acquired, all these aspects will be working with students throughout the different subjects of Integrated Nursing and with the calculation of all the subjects of the Degree in Nursing throughout the first year and all the courses of the degree.

Specifically in the subject Integrated Nursing I, the student will work in small groups of about 25 students in the seminars and about 10 in the simulation sessions achieving a personalized follow-up, with the following structure:

1. Seminars: Group work of cases through ABP, with follow-up of both the content of the work and the participation of the student where they worked among other aspects, those related to the nursing identity, the vision that I project, the different areas of action where works, skills of the profession, code of ethics of the profession.

 2. Reflective Diary: Individual observation work carried out by the student with group tutoring with advice on its development.

3. Simulation: Classes at the Center for Simulation and Innovation in Health (CSIS) are held in small groups where they work on technical skills or procedures, discussion, case analysis, theoretical knowledge, problem solving, decision making, teamwork and all the basic activities performed by the care nurse. It consists of 9 sessions of 2 hours each.

Evaluation system

The assessment system for the skills and learning outcomes of this subject includes different assessment activities for Subject 4 - Basic Nursing Sciences:

A system of quantitative (from 0 to 10) and qualitative (suspended, approved, notable, excellent, honorary registration) is used according to RD 1125/2003.

The total or partial copy in any of the learning activities means a "Not Presented" in the subject, without option to present in the proof of recovery and without prejudice of the opening of a file for this reason.

According to UPF regulations, students who have the option of retrieving the subject are those who have obtained a “suspended” grade, which are the only ones that can be modified in the recovery process.

The evaluation system and recovery period are detailed in the Learning Plan available in the virtual classroom at the beginning of the subject.
