Description


Pathophysiology is a branch of medicine closely related to anatomy, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, physiology, immunology, pharmacology and morphological sciences that is dedicated to the study of the mechanisms by which the different diseases, which allows us to explain why the symptoms occur and the various manifestations that accompany it.

Pathophysiology in physical activity and sport studies the most common diseases, the mechanisms of production and how these are related to physical activity and sport through a conceptual, historical and methodological study.

So, the main objective of the subject will be to train the student to be able to examine the relationship between moderate and regular physical activity and the improvement of physical condition and health in people with different pathologies. It also aims to show how an active lifestyle contributes to physical and mental health and the improvement of quality of life.

BLOCK I. Pathophysiology of diseases and their relationship with physical activity:

- Diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, endocrinometabolic and oncological diseases .....

BLOCK II. Pathophysiology of injuries and their relationship with physical activity and sport: 

- Muscle-tendon injuries, joints, upper and lower extremities, assessment and exploration of the athlete in the prevention of injuries ...

BLOCK III. Basic Life Support

Evaluation system


The assessment will consist of a recognition of the level of learning achieved by the student, materialized in the numerical grade, in accordance with the provisions of current legislation.

Qualification system (Royal Decree 1125/2003, of 5 September, which establishes the European credit system and the system of qualifications in university degrees of an official nature and valid throughout the state):
            0 - 4,9: Suspension (SS)
            5,0 - 6,9: Approved (AP)
            7,0 - 8,9: Notable (NT)
            9,0 - 10: Excellent (SB)

The student's grade is the result of a continuous assessment and a final assessment. The pass of the subject is obtained with a grade equal to or higher than 5 points (out of 10 points), according to the following weighting table and NECESSARY criteria to average between the evaluation activities:

The individual work they will consist of quizzes, class activities, participation in forums, throughout the term.

El group work will focus on one of the topics of the subject and will be presented in class at the end of the term.

According to UPF regulations, students who have the option of retrieving the subject are those who have obtained a “suspended” grade, which are the only ones that can be modified in the recovery process. If the rating is Not presented, you will not be eligible for recovery. The other grades (individual work and group work) will be maintained in the recovery period.

La full or partial copy in any of the learning activities would mean a "Not Presented"in the subject, without option to appear in the proof of recovery and without prejudice of the opening of a file for this reason.
