Presentation of the subject


The main objective of this subject is for students to acquire the necessary skills to promote and prescribe active and healthy lifestyles to the entire population and in all age groups, with the aim of improving the quality of life of people and reduce the risks of suffering from non-communicable diseases.

This optional subject proposes to deepen the promotion and prescription of physical activity for health, incorporating it as a habit that will determine an active and healthy lifestyle. This will be done taking into account the current global trends and guidelines for the promotion of health and the improvement of the quality of life of people, in all ages and conditions.

This subject has methodological and digital resources to make it possible to continue it in a non-face-to-face mode if necessary. In this way, the achievement of the same knowledge and skills specified in this teaching plan will be ensured.

 The classroom (physical or virtual) is a safe space, free of sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic and discriminatory attitudes, either towards students or teachers. We trust that together we can create a safe space where we can make mistakes and learn without having to suffer the prejudices of others. 

Contents


  1. Health and its social determinants. Basic concepts and contextualization.
  2. Benefits and risks. WHO guidelines on PA and sedentary behavior.
  3. Competences of the agent promoting change, in the lifestyle.
  4. Salutogenesis. Methodology and tools for identifying Health Assets.
  5. Promotion of physical activity in the work environment. Tools and resources to be a health promoting company. Evaluation of programs.
  6. Active and healthy architecture and urbanism. Learn to generate and design actions on urban environments to promote the practice of physical and sports activity.
  7. Promotion of physical activity and sport in the educational field. Design and planning of actions to increase physical health in educational environments (schools, institutes, universities, libraries, etc.). Evaluation methods.
  8. Active and Healthy Aging. The prescription of AF in the elderly. Design and plan actions to promote physical activity in the community. 
  9. Plans, programs and projects to promote physical activity and the prescription of physical exercise for health in the health sector. Main indicators and evaluation methods.
  10. Technologies (ICT) applied to health. Like through smart devices, mobile apps, wearables, etc. adherence to physical activity is encouraged. Healthy use of technologies.
  11. Design of campaigns to promote AF as an active and healthy lifestyle in the community.

Qualification system (Royal Decree 1125/2003, of 5 September, which establishes the European credit system and the system of qualifications in university degrees of an official nature and valid throughout the state):
0 - 4,9: Suspension (SS)
5,0 - 6,9: Approved (AP)
7,0 - 8,9: Notable (NT)
9,0 - 10: Excellent (SB)
The final grade of the student is the result of a continuous assessment through different assessment activities. The pass of the subject is obtained with a grade equal to or higher than 5 points (out of 10 points) according to the following weighting table:

REQUIREMENTS TO PASS THE CONTINUOUS EVALUATION:
- Compulsory minimum attendance at face-to-face sessions of 65%. This fork of permitted fouls will already include fouls due to illness or injury.
IMPORTANT:
If the continuous assessment is not passed due to non-compliance with any of the necessary requirements described above, the student will fail the subject.
Recovery:
You can choose to recover individual and group work.

In accordance with current regulations, in the assessment activity of individual work, you can only opt for recovery, if you have been suspended. In case of No Show, you will not be able to opt for recovery.
