A theoretical-practical subject is presented that allows the student to discover different concepts, methodologies, techniques or strategies in the field of the urogynecological patient. The main objective of the subject is to acquire the basic knowledge of the different concepts and methods of approach that we currently have at our disposal, as well as for the student to be able to identify his role within a multidisciplinary team and achieve the following learning objectives, know the anatomy and physiology involved in the pelvic floor, in order to be able to identify the different uro-gynecological-coloproctological pathologies, perform an external assessment of the patient (not intracavitary), design and perform a protocol of action based on the dysfunction exposed in the subject, in addition to being able to carry out group work plans, design prevention strategies and carry out the search and application of tools validated for use at a clinical level. The theoretical and practical content of this subject aims to provide a vision based on clinical evidence and supported by published scientific evidence.
The distribution of the theoretical and/or practical content of the subject can be consulted in the schedule and sections of the corresponding virtual classroom before it starts.
This subject aims to introduce the gender perspective in its content and development. In addition, the objectives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations.
The classroom (physical or virtual) is a safe space, free of sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic and discriminatory attitudes, either towards students or towards teachers. We trust that together we can create a safe space where we can make mistakes and learn without having to suffer prejudice from others.
The subject will present the main conditions and treatments in the field of urogynecological, abdominal, coloproctological and sexual physiotherapy, male and female. Distributing the learning in different sections:
- Anatomy of the pelvic floor.
- Physiology of the systems that make up the pelvic floor
- Risk factors. - Clinical history.
- Application of validated tools.
- Physical activity and pelvic floor
- Pregnancy and childbirth - Postpartum
- Pathophysiology of the pelvic floor
- Treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions.
This subject may consider the following indicators detailed in the table in its evaluation proposal

The subjects will have evaluation and recovery activities in accordance with the teaching guide and the subject's learning plan, published in their virtual classroom and which will establish the necessary requirements to be able to participate.
In accordance with current UPF regulations, all students who, having participated in the learning and assessment activities during the term, have obtained a failing grade for the corresponding subject in the quarterly assessment may participate in the recovery process . Those who have not participated in the learning and assessment activities or who have waived the assessment will not be able to participate. If the grade is "not submitted", you will not be able to opt for recovery and therefore the subject will have to be taken again in its entirety in the following academic year.
In the event of copying, plagiarism or illegitimate use of generative artificial intelligence in any assessment activity, you must consult the TecnoCampus University Center's Undergraduate and Master's Course Assessment Regulations.
