Competencies / Learning Outcomes

Specific skills
  • S21. Analyze topologies for energy conversion using electronic circuits.

  • S24. Design analog, digital and power electronic circuits.

  • C7. Write texts with a structure appropriate to the communication objectives.

  • C11. Operate appropriately to understand and produce a text in written, oral or audiovisual form and interpret and understand the plurilingual, multilingual and intercultural relationship of their immediate reality.

  • C13. Develop, in an integrated manner, analog, digital and power electronic circuits.

  • C27. Formulate a critical judgment regarding a reality presented using arguments, being able to show collaborative work skills in various groups and to recognize the right of people to participate in issues that affect them, also identifying the challenges of the circular economy and current solutions in the field of industrial technical engineering.

Presentation of the subject

The purpose of the Power Electronics subject is to train students so that they are able to understand, interpret and perform calculations in the most basic Power Electronics circuits, in their four conversions (CC/CC, CA/ CC, CC/CA, CA/CA), in addition to distinguishing between the different electronic devices within this discipline. Only the permanent regime will be considered, the transitory regime will not be the subject of study. The most common applications will also be presented.

The classroom (physical or virtual) is a safe space, free of sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic and discriminatory attitudes, either towards students or towards teachers. We trust that together we can create a safe space where we can make mistakes and learn without having to suffer prejudice from others.

Activities and evaluation system

The final grade (QF) of the subject is calculated as follows:

QF = EX 0,7 + P 0,2 + T 0,1

where EX=0,5 Ex1+0,5 Ex2

Ex1 and Ex2: exams

Q: internships

T: work

Minimum grades:

In case the EX activity rating is less than 3,0, QF = EX.

In case the activity rating P is less than 3,0, QF = P.

In case the activity rating T is less than 3,0, QF = T.

If the subject is not passed in the ordinary assessment, there will be an extraordinary recovery session for activities Ex1 and Ex2. The grade of this recovery will replace that of Ex1 and Ex2 activities within the evaluation of the subject. P and T activities are not recoverable.
