Presentation of the subject


The subject Management and Communication Skills It aims to develop the personal, communication and managerial skills necessary to exercise leadership and management functions in professional and organizational environments.

The content focuses on the fundamentals of management and professional communication, the role of communication in labor relations, organizational culture, values, and the creation of safe work environments. Key skills such as emotional intelligence, self-awareness, time management, personal productivity, assertiveness, and feedback as a tool for professional development are worked on.

The subject also addresses the main management skills, including leadership styles, decision-making, delegation, ethics, negotiation and conflict management. In the communication area, verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, internal communication, storytelling and the influence of cognitive biases in professional communication are analyzed.

Finally, the management of critical situations and complex contexts is worked on, such as organizational crises, communication in high-tension situations and team coordination in adverse environments. The subject adopts a practical and applied approach, aimed at facilitating the transfer of learning to professional reality.

The classroom (physical or virtual) is a safe space, free of sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic and discriminatory attitudes, either towards students or teachers. We trust that together we can create a safe space where we can make mistakes and learn without having to suffer the prejudices of others.

  • Case study (application of 5 topics) – 30%

The practical cases of the continuous assessment will be solved in the classroom on the dates indicated in the schedule from the beginning of the subject. They cannot be made up.

In the final exam, a minimum of 5 points out of 10 must be obtained in each part (test and case study). In the event of failure, only the failed component must be retaken.

 

Any form of academic fraud will be sanctioned in accordance with the center's assessment regulations. If signs of fraud are detected, including the improper use of generative artificial intelligence tools, the subject's teaching staff may call the student for an individual interview with the aim of verifying their authorship.
