Select interventions aimed at the healthy child and the patient, as well as those derived from the methods of diagnosis and treatment. Presentation of the subject


The subject Maternal, Child and Adolescent Nursing Care is part of the mandatory training in the basic curriculum of the Nursing Degree and is located in the second year of the degree.

The subject focuses on the study of human development from pre-conception/conception to adolescence. It covers physical, psychological, social and emotional aspects, providing a comprehensive understanding and conceptualization of the subject.

The development of the subject allows the student to explore topics such as; prenatal development, gestation, childbirth and puerperium, parenting, education and the challenges faced by children and adolescents in different health-illness contexts. Developmental theories, the influence of the family and social environment are analyzed, as well as the importance of promoting, preventing and restoring health and well-being at these stages with the ultimate goal of enabling students to identify and address fundamental needs, promoting healthy development and supporting families and communities in the process.

 

The classroom (physical or virtual) is a safe space, free from sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic and discriminatory attitudes, whether towards students or teachers. We trust that together we can create a safe space where we can make mistakes and learn without having to suffer prejudice from others.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in this subject is regulated in the Learning Plan. It should be consulted to find out the specific conditions of use.

A system of quantitative (from 0 to 10) and qualitative (suspended, approved, notable, excellent, honorary registration) is used according to RD 1125/2003.

According to UPF regulations, students who have the option of retrieving the subject are those who have obtained a “suspended” grade, which are the only ones that can be modified in the recovery process.

The evaluation system and recovery period are detailed in the Learning Plan available in the virtual classroom at the beginning of the subject.

Any form of academic fraud will be sanctioned in accordance with the center's assessment regulations. If signs of fraud are detected, including the improper use of generative artificial intelligence tools, the subject's teaching staff may call the student for an individual interview with the aim of verifying their authorship.
