Presentation of the subject


The elective course on physical and sports activity in special populations aims to consolidate and develop knowledge about personal training in special populations, defining their morphological and physiological characteristics. On the other hand, the subject aims to show new means, materials and methodologies in personal training based on people with physical, sensory or intellectual disabilities.

The classroom (physical or virtual) is a safe space, free from sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic and discriminatory attitudes, whether towards students or teachers. We trust that together we can create a safe space where we can make mistakes and learn without having to suffer prejudice from others. Furthermore, the social and environmental relevance of the gender perspective will be highlighted, through the topic of “Sex, gender and physical exercise”, as well as through information-seeking activities and critical debates.

Activities and evaluation system


The evaluation will consist of a recognition of the level of learning achieved by the student, materialized in the numerical qualification, in accordance with the provisions of current legislation. Qualification system (Royal Decree 1125/2003, of September 5, which establishes the European Credit System and the qualification system in university degrees of an official nature and valid throughout the state territory):

0 - 4,9: Suspension (SS)

5,0 - 6,9: Approved (AP)

7,0 - 8,9: Notable (NT)

9,0 - 10: Excellent (SB)

The student's grade is the result of a continuous assessment and a final assessment. The subject is passed with a grade equal to or greater than 5 points (out of 10 points), according to the following weighting table:
