Given the number of citizens of the metropolitan area of Barcelona - Maresme who use English as a language of communication and the possibilities of mobility of health professionals within the European Union, have a solid knowledge base of English it is considered an important element in the training of a student of physiotherapy and physical activity and sports sciences.
This highly communicative course works on the skills necessary for a health professional to communicate effectively in a health-related environment.
Furthermore, given the amount of academic articles published in English within the area of health sciences, the ability of undergraduate students to read effectively in English has become essential.
The distribution of the theoretical or practical contents of the subject can be consulted in the schedule and in the sections of the corresponding virtual classroom before it begins.
This subject ensures that the gender perspective is introduced into its content and development. The objectives are also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The classroom (physical or virtual) is a safe space, free from sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic and discriminatory attitudes, whether towards students or teachers. We trust that together we can create a safe space where we can make mistakes and learn without having to suffer the prejudices of others.

Synopsis:

A system of quantitative (from 0 to 10) and qualitative (suspended, approved, notable, excellent, honorary registration) is used according to RD 1125/2003.
The subjects will have assessment and recovery activities in accordance with the teaching guide and learning plan for the subject, published in its virtual classroom and which will establish the necessary requirements to be able to participate.
In accordance with current UPF regulations, all students who, having participated in the learning and assessment activities during the term, have obtained the grade of failing the corresponding subject in the quarterly assessment may participate in the recovery process. Those who have not participated in the learning and assessment activities or have waived the assessment will not be able to participate.
