As a starting point for the project Archive of the Memory of the Resistance, we want to promote an initial 20 interviews that will serve to systematize the archive for the future. These 20 interviews are based on the union (and sometimes also neighborhood) organization of the PSUC in the Maresme, based on the historical research work carried out by Juan Ortiz Olmedo, who has published a summary in his book “L'abraçada del PSUC”. These testimonies, from various towns in the Maresme, but also from Mataró, despite significantly representing the union and political struggle, are also rooted in other branches of the themes that the project wants to address, given the transversality of some profiles and what is currently known as “shared struggles”.
Therefore, the project has a direct link (and, consequently, an impact) in the territory. It is not only about recovering the most relevant people from the union, neighborhood, educational and political movements, but also testimonies that, although they may initially seem "secondary", will contribute to building a more plural and diverse memory. This is the case of women. You only have to take a look at the main similar existing projects to see that oral memory has often been based on the memory of men. Surely because they played more prominent roles in the political and social events of the country, but also because the same dynamics associated with the construction of gender have left women in the background (sometimes they have even placed themselves in the background).
La request of the "Archive of the Memory of the Resistance" project is presented through the Call for competitive grants for projects of commemorative activities, research and dissemination of democratic memory, and enhancement and dissemination of the memorial heritage of Catalonia (scope 2). with reference number MEM250/25/000154.
