CONTINUOUS EVALUATION (50%)
1) Exhibitions, 20% distributed as follows:
• 10% Oral presentation (not retrievable in any format, as it assesses public speaking skills). It is evaluated individually..
• 10% Slides presented on the day of presentation (evaluated in a group), based on its content, APA style citations, relevance to the presentation, font size, original content (as opposed to copy and paste or using information provided by the professor), and other factors.
2) Seminars, 30%, distributed as follows:
Although in this subject it is not mandatory to evaluate a specific Tecnocampus Competence, CCT4: Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaborative work competences and CCT5: Autonomy and critical thinking competences are taken into account for the evaluation.
FINAL EXAMINATION (50%)
Individual and face-to-face: 50%.
Evaluation conditions:
For the Final Exam:
• The presentation of the final exam is a necessary condition to obtain a course grade.
• A minimum of 5/10 points must be obtained in the Final Exam to be able to make the average with the continuous assessment. Otherwise, that is, if a grade of 4,99 points or less is obtained in the Final Exam, it is necessary to attend the Remedial Exam.
• In the case of students who have obtained more than 5 points in the continuous assessment, but have failed the final exam, that is, who have obtained less than 4,99/10 points, they will take the Remedial Exam.
• In case of not attending the Final Exam, the student will receive the grade of “Not Presented” and does NOT have the option to take the Retake Exam.
• In the event of not attending the retake exam, the student will maintain the same grade obtained in the Final Exam.
• In the event of attending the Remedial Exam and the student obtains a grade greater than or equal to 5 (five) points out of 10 (ten), the Final Grade for the Subject will be 50% of the continuous assessment and 50% of the Remedial Exam. That is, the % of the continuous assessment will remain the same as throughout the course according to this Teaching Guide.
For continuous assessment
• Continuous assessment % are NOT recoverable.
• In order to obtain a grade for each of the Seminars held in class, the student must be physically present in the Classroom on the day of the Seminar and show evidence of collaboration with the group.
• The use of key concepts seen in class is taken into account for the development of seminars.
• Written communication skills: Ability to synthesize; appropriate use of spelling; lexical adequacy (use of vocabulary according to the topic/subject); formal aspects and the application of the gender perspective as much as possible within the topic is considered a positive aspect, as is the Sustainable Development Goals;
• Use of bibliography and references in APA format; Search for scientific contributions relevant to research and the ability to integrate them into a project.
• Development of own ideas and analyses based on opinions expressed in books, scientific articles or news from recognized media or organizations.
• Verbal fluency; appropriate gestures during the presentation; academic vocabulary specific to the topic being developed; teamwork skills, being able to proactively criticize the rest of the members or other work groups from the point of view of the topic being developed.
• The use of AI to develop a topic is NOT evaluated, unless it is only to organize ideas, or propose titles to develop a topic, or propose scientific authors who have written on the topic, or propose International Organizations or books that talk about the topic and thus, subsequently, search for these articles directly to read them and make a critical analysis.
• Self-development is evaluated instead of “copying and pasting” information.
