Specific

  • Students will develop an understanding of the fundamental concepts of nautical navigation. This knowledge will be of great use to you in the field of maritime logistics. In addition, students will be trained to safely steer recreational boats in coastal navigation (12 miles from the coast).
  • They will be trained to pass the official Recreational Boat Skipper exam which, together with the mandatory practices, qualifies them to govern sports boats up to 24 meters.

Working methodology

1.- Structure of the theoretical and practical sessions

1.1.- Microseminars

With the aim of promoting progressive and applied learning, the theoretical sessions of the subject will be structured into thematic blocks or clearly differentiated parts and divided into micro-seminars in which a set of key concepts and a practical part will be addressed.

The practical sessions, aimed at consolidating the knowledge acquired, will be based on dynamic activities, such as exercises on a nautical chart or solving tests. These sessions are designed to encourage active participation, critical thinking and the connection between theoretical content and its practical application.

1.2.- Presentations

Multimedia formats that support face-to-face classes.

Throughout the course, the student will do written exercises and official multiple-choice exams.

 

Evaluation system

1.- Continuous evaluation The following percentages apply:

Final exam with a similar structure to the officers' exam (theory and paper). (Minimum required score: 5)

 

In the event that the final exam grade is less than 5, the student may opt for retake, provided that they have appeared for the ordinary final exam.

Any form of academic fraud will be sanctioned in accordance with the center's assessment regulations.
