Description


This subject has methodological and digital resources to make possible its continuity in non-contact mode in the case of being necessary for reasons related to the Covid-19. In this way, the achievement of the same knowledge and skills that are specified in this teaching plan will be ensured.

The TecnoCampus will make available to teachers and students the digital tools needed to carry out the course, as well as guides and recommendations that facilitate adaptation to the non-contact mode.

Given the number of citizens of the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona - Maresme who use English as a language of communication and the possibilities of mobility of health professionals within the European Union, have a solid knowledge base of English it is considered an important element of a nursing student’s training.

In addition, given the number of academic articles published in English within the area of ​​health sciences, the ability of undergraduate students to be able to read in English effectively has become essential.

 

Learning outcomes


The main objective of this course is:

  • Allow participants to develop their ability to communicate in English, as well as read academic and scientific articles in that language.

Thus, the learning outcomes are as follows:

  • Understand and express themselves orally and in writing in English
  • Understand English texts related to nursing scientific evidence
  • Design strategies for improving comprehension and communication in English with people and groups of different nationalities
  • Understand the language of health information systems

Working methodology


The methodology of the course will be in itself a model of what you want to work on and of a very practical nature. Each session will include a variety of activities designed to develop the main language strategies. There will be classes with large groups and classes with small groups, in which teamwork will be promoted.
