Description


Individual sports include athletics and swimming. It is presented as a tool for the acquisition of basic knowledge for the analysis of the determinants of performance in actions of different athletic disciplines and, from there, will establish a didactic proposal of learning and correction of the technical execution in the same.

In the same way, they will know the basic elements of competitive swimming (history, regulations, test program, ...), as well as the techniques of this sport (style technique, outings and turns), and learn the methodology of initiation into basic swimming training.

It is intended that the student be able to transfer this methodology, of analysis and establishment of a didactic proposal, to any sport and / or physical activity.    

Learning outcomes


  • Identify the psycho and sociomotor requirements of the skills of various sports and sports activities, knowing the technical-tactical elements that structure them and execute them basically.
  • Program basic teaching-learning processes of various sports and sports activities, with attention to their didactic peculiarities, taking into account diversity: gender, age, disability.

 

Working methodology


The methodology of the subject will be carried out combining face-to-face classroom time, with autonomous work time, with the support of the virtual learning environment. The percentage of time the student spends is distributed as follows:

Learning activities


The activities of the subject follow the system of continuous evaluation, that is to say, that throughout the term the professor raises several activities, that the students must solve and deliver. The work of each one of the activities allows to value to the student, the follow-up that does to the asignatura and the elements of improvement, from the comments and notes that the professor will do of the activities.

 

The proposed activities can be individual or in work groups. The teacher gives the instructions so that the students can elaborate and deliver them. All the activities proposed are designed so that students have a practical perspective on the topics that are developed throughout the ten weeks of the term.

The activities that the students will do will be the following:

  • Individual works.
  • Group work.
  • Theoretical sessions in class.
  • Practical sessions outside the classroom.

Evaluation system


Qualification system (Royal Decree 1125/2003, of 5 September) that establishes the European system of credits and the system of qualifications to the university degrees of official character and validity in all the state territory:

0 - 4,9: Suspended

5,0 - 6,9: Approved

7,0 - 8,9: Notable

9,0 - 10: Excellent

 

  • Subject evaluation system (athletics and swimming):

The subject consists of two distinct parts: athletics and swimming. The final grade is obtained by performing the arithmetic mean of the final grade of each part. In order to be able to average, each of the parts must be approved separately. Each part is approved with a 5 out of 10. It is mandatory to submit all assessment activities in order to pass the continuous assessment.

To pass the course it will be mandatory that the student has attended a minimum of 80% of the sessions of each of the parts (athletics and swimming).

  • Assessment system for each part of the subject:

The continuous evaluation (participation, individual and group work) of each part (athletics or swimming) will be able to make average with the examination of the respective part (athletics or swimming) only with a note equal or superior to 5 points.

The two evaluation activities (participation, individual and group work of a theoretical-practical nature and the exam) must be passed with a minimum grade of 5 points to be able to average between them.

The following table specifies the different competencies to be achieved, the assessment systems and their weight in the final grade.

Each part of the subject (swimming and athletics) may have a different number of continuous assessment activities, while maintaining the proportion in the volume of dedication and the weights (percentages) contained in this Teaching Plan of the subject.

IMPORTANT: If the continuous assessment is not passed due to non-compliance with any of the necessary requirements described above, the student will suspend the subject.

Those who do not appear in the exam are not entitled to recovery.

If there is a suspended part (Swimming or Athletics), only the recovery exam of that part will be taken, keeping the note of the other approved part. Notes will not be saved for the next year in case of repeating the subject.
