T1 Understand the scientific literature in the field of physical activity and sport in English and other languages with a significant presence in the scientific field.
This subject is structured in two well-differentiated but closely related blocks. The first block focuses on sports legislation, its structure and the legal framework in physiotherapy and self-employment. It will introduce the student to the world of sports in its broadest sense. This block addresses the international and especially national structure of sport; in this sense, the main international and national bodies, their organization and competencies are studied. The role of sports clubs and associations and the ways of resolving sports conflicts will also be explained. These contents are essential for the student to have an overview of how sport is regulated and how it is applied. In this way, the student will be able to know in more detail and in an interdisciplinary way many of the problems and conflicts that appear later in the media.
In the second block, that of bioethics, the scenario of the exercise of the care and service professions has undergone in recent years rapid and profound changes that have come to modify the nature and objectives of professional activities, one of The causes have been the current proliferation of regulations governing the rights of users of the health system and consumers of services in general, the various care and service activities, as well as the requirements and availability of resources between others, which implies an increasingly complex and demanding professional practice which leads to an increase in the area of competence and professional responsibility.
This professional responsibility does not only imply the monitoring and compliance with current legislation, but also generates ethical and moral responsibility, given the various situations and / or ethical-legal conflicts that occur in clinical and sports practice; It is these reasons that demand a deep and interdisciplinary reflection of the healthcare and service professions in order to provide answers in the search for professional excellence. Professional bioethics and legislation as disciplines offer tools and resources to facilitate the reflection and management of possible answers to ethical-legal dilemmas arising from professional practice.
1. Know and act within the ethical-legal principles necessary for the correct professional exercise.
2. Achieve proper integration of ethical, bioethical, legal, professional and scientific values.
3. Acquire the ability to adapt to the various situations in the practice of physiotherapy and physical activity and sports.
4. Have a global and integrated view of the service delivery process, understanding the fundamentals of management, the rules and regulations that affect the sports sector, as well as analyzing the environmental factors that condition the sports system.
5. Identify the basic functions and processes (analysis, planning, execution, monitoring / control and evaluation) for the direction and management of entities, facilities and / or sports activities.
6. Demonstrate knowledge in the basic legal system of physical activity and sport, as well as know how to use the knowledge of infrastructure and spaces for physical activity and sport necessary for its management.
7. Intervene professionally in sports management, guaranteeing the quality, safety and health of users, as well as sports, social and economic results and the satisfaction of interested groups.
8. Develop the capacity for analysis and synthesis.
9. Discover the need to work in a multidisciplinary team.
10. Recognize, analyze ethical and legal problems and elaborate possible answers.
11. Be able to apply ethical and legal knowledge in professional practice.
12. Recognize one's own limitations and the need to maintain and update professional competence, with special emphasis on autonomous learning of new knowledge and techniques, as well as motivation for quality.
13. Develop habits of excellence and quality in professional practice.
14. Acquire bioethical criteria for the treatment of people with health problems.
15. Acquire the ability to reason critically, interact with professionals and
communication.
16. Guarantee the correct taxation of the self-employed worker.
The methodology of the subject will be carried out combining face-to-face classroom time, with autonomous work time, with the support of the virtual learning environment. The percentage of time the student spends is distributed as follows:

Both in the face-to-face sessions and in the autonomous work, the student will work individually and in work groups.
Each ECTS is equivalent to 25 hours of student dedication, considering the time invested in the total of the activities related to the face-to-face time and the time of autonomous work, that the professor of the subject guides, as well as the reading time, information search, connection to the Virtual Classroom, elaboration of works.

The activities of the subject follow the system of continuous evaluation, that is to say, that throughout the term the professor raises several activities, that the students must solve and deliver. The work of each one of the activities allows to value to the student, the follow-up that does to the asignatura and the elements of improvement, from the comments and notes that the professor will do of the activities.
The proposed activities can be individual or in work groups. The teacher gives the instructions so that the students can elaborate and deliver them. All the activities proposed are designed so that students have a practical perspective on the topics that are developed throughout the ten weeks of the term.
Qualification system (Royal Decree 1125/2003, of 5 September) that establishes the European system of credits and the system of qualifications to the university degrees of official character and validity in all the state territory:
0 - 4,9: Suspended
5,0 - 6,9: Approved
7,0 - 8,9: Notable
9,0 - 10: Excellent
Continuous evaluation:
The evaluation of the subject will be based on a continuous evaluation that will consist of a test-type exam of multiple choice of the block of contents of Legislation, with a value of the 30% of the final grade. The thematic block of Bioethics will be evaluated with an examination of open questions and / or multiple choice test type and the resolution of a practical case that will be equivalent to a 20% of the final note of the theoretical knowledge. The other 50% of the final mark of the subject will correspond to the part of practical knowledge developed in the sessions of seminars and group tutorials with the final delivery of the analysis and resolution of the practical cases worked along these (30 % Legislation and 20% Bioethics).
It will be necessary to pass each one of the evaluative activities with a quantitative qualification equal or superior to 5 points in order to pass the subject of Bioethics and Legislation.
