The subject “Fundamentals of Neurological Pathology” (Code 22033) corresponds to 4 ECTS credits. It is a compulsory subject. It will be taught in the second term of the third year of the double degree in Physiotherapy and Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport in the classrooms of the Maresme Health Consortium (CSdM), the teaching staff includes two teachers with a dedication of 20 school hours each.
With the recent evolution of knowledge of the pathophysiology, natural history and response to the treatment of many neurological diseases, the relationship between physical activity and these three essential aspects of neurological pathology has been established.
Physical activity, both aimed at improving and recovering skills limited by the disease and its prevention or even the modification of certain aspects of the course of some diseases or their risk of presentation, is currently a aspect of growing interest in research.
Knowledge of the fundamental aspects of neurological pathology must allow the professionals involved to develop and implement in their practice new techniques in the management of the neurological patient aimed at improving their functionality and quality of life.

Plenary sessions: Master classes with the help of multimedia support and interactive platforms, aimed at continuous debate and clarification of debate-discussion and the presentation of clinical cases.
Work in group: work and discussion of different topics in small groups and sharing in class.
Self-employment: Readings of recommended texts, articles, problem solving, etc. Self-learning (moodle activities). Personal study
1. Written test, final exam: 50%
2. Practical participation in class: 20%
3. Presentation of teamwork: 10%
4. Presentation of individual work: with a weighting of 20%
To pass the subject it is necessary to obtain one grade of 5/10 in the written test.
According to current regulations, only those students who have obtained a grade of suspense to the theoretical examination during the ordinary period.
