Today the School of Health Sciences (ESCS) has celebrated International Nursing Day, which is May 12th. Throughout the morning the Nursing students have carried out various activities related to their profession. A special guest, the teacher, stands out Maria Gasull, ia nurse for 43 years and a graduate in Humanities.

Nursing students have listened with great attention and admiration to the energetic, vital, dynamic and enthusiastic speech of Mrs. Maria Gasull, who told them about her extensive experience in the field of Nursing, full of anecdotes that have created a very relaxed and participatory atmosphere where teachers, guests and students have felt comfortable and have been able to have a lively debate on the role of nurses in the current hospital setting.

During her professional career, Maria Gasull has been a midwife at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and a teacher in the maternal and child program at the School of Nursing at the same center.
She is an expert in bioethics, a discipline that has become his true vocation, and today, although retired, he continues to collaborate in the ethics program of the School of Nursing. She recently received the "A prop teu" award from the College of Nursing for leading the first code of nursing ethics in Catalonia and for her contribution to the construction of the body of knowledge of nursing ethics.
