Dra. Esther Cabrera, director of the School of Health Sciences, attended the event on April 11 “ Close to you 2011”In the auditorium of the Official College of Nursing of Barcelona.
This event recognized the work of the more than 38.000 nurses in the province of Barcelona, paid tribute to retired nurses, and presented the 2011 COIB Awards. the Minister of Health Boi Ruiz, and the Mayor of Barcelona Jordi Hereu. During the presentation of the event, the president of the COIB, Mariona Creus, expressed the concern of the entire group of nursing professionals for the current situation of health institutions and its consequences both in the quality of care and in the employment situation of nurses. Mariona Creus stated that despite this situation, the "red line" that is to endanger the patient's safety must never be crossed.
