On Monday, October 6, TecnoCampus received a visit from Carlos Crespo, dean of the College of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). The day began with an institutional meeting between Crespo and the general director of TecnoCampus, Josep Lluís Checa, during which a letter of intent was signed to establish an international agreement between both institutions.

Subsequently, a guided tour of the campus facilities was carried out, which included the academic and research spaces of the Department of Health such as the Laboratory of Physical Activity, Performance and Health (LARS), the Laboratory of Technological Innovation, Strength and Functional Assessment (LabIT), the Center for Simulation and Innovation in Health (CSIS) and the Gastronomic Laboratory, as well as the facilities of the business park, including ThinkIn 3D, the TecnoCampus additive manufacturing accelerator, and the Antena TrenLab Mataró.

This connection between the University of Illinois Chicago and TecnoCampus has been promoted by the Department of Health, the result of the international research stay of Professor Carla Pérez-Chirinos, member of the research group in Technology Applied to High Performance and Health (TAARS).

This collaboration opens up new opportunities for the development of joint projects and the strengthening of international ties in the fields of health, innovation and applied research. The main areas of collaboration include, on the one hand, academic programs, with shared initiatives in educational projects, faculty and student exchanges, and visits by guest professors; on the other, research, oriented towards the development of competitive international projects and the promotion of joint research stays; and finally, innovation, development and entrepreneurship, focused on the creation and promotion of international projects.
