On November 18 and 19, the TecnoChallenge took place, a weekend dedicated to solving real challenges of the TecnoCampus entrepreneurial community.

In its ninth edition, TecnoChallenge (which in previous editions was called Weekend Challenge) once again set itself the objective of developing the entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills of students, enhancing the company-university link and finding innovative solutions for three categories of challenges .

The challenge proposed by the company NexTReT with The Luna Toes consisted of a solution for the identification and diagnosis of foot diseases. Startup Banting Labs' challenge focused on glucose monitoring and health self-management for people with diabetes. And the university, proposed by the students who make up the TecnoCampus Formula Student team, was focused on the exchange of parts for the manufacture of cars, between the different European teams that compete in the Formula Student.

To solve them, TecnoChallenge brought together about fifty undergraduate and master's students from various fields. In a preliminary session, which took place on November 11, the 13 multidisciplinary teams were formed, their members met for the first time and were able to choose together the challenge they would develop during the event. On the weekend of November 18 and 19, the teams met again and worked on their solutions, to present them at the end of Sunday.

The winning teams were:

  • Company challenge: Toe Scanner team, made up of Jaume Gibert (Mechanical Engineering), Jan Manté (Computer Engineering) and Ezequiel Vergagni (Master's in Entrepreneurship and Innovation).
  • Startup Challenge: Team Sweetcare Project, composed of David Alabau (Marketing), Oscar Cerezuela (Double Computer Engineering and Video Games), Víctor Pérez (Double ADE and Marketing) and Katlheen Torres (ADE).
  • University challenge: Speedway Motors team, made up of Noel Ferrer (Computer Engineering) and Pau Ubellen (Double CAFE and Physiotherapy).

Each of the teams won 500,00 euros and the possibility to implement their solution alongside those responsible for the challenges.

In addition, three new awards were given, one for the TecnoChallenger, awarded to Marketing student Pablo Zambrano and another for the TecnoChallenger, received by Melissa Montoya, student of the Master's in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The third recognition, The Green Table, went to the Solutions for Luna team, which stood out for its commitment to the sustainability of its members Alex Barroso (Electronic Engineering), Néstor García (ADE Marketing), Emma Márquez (Electronic Engineering ) and Pablo Zambrano.

Elisa Sayrol, academic director of TecnoCampus, highlighted the participation and results of this new edition of TecnoChallenge, which evidence the high level of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of TecnoCampus students and, above all, their commitment with the triple impact (economic, social and environmental).

The days were facilitated by teacher and expert Ana Rodera, alongside Miren Adarraga and Narcís Ruiz, from Collective Innovation. They joined as teaching mentors and alumni from the four departments and staff from the Transfer, Innovation and Business area of TecnoCampus. The event, organized by University Entrepreneurship, was made possible thanks to the support of the Department of Business and Labor of the Government of Catalonia and the collaboration of the Start for Future European Program.
