In this sector, the use of AI is not something new. It has been a decade since studies have incorporated subjects dedicated to artificial intelligence, as he confirms Joan Joseph Pons, coordinator of Degree in Video Game Design and Production of the TecnoCampus, in an article in La Vanguardia.

However, Pons indicates, it is necessary to know how to differentiate between "canonical" AI and the new generative artificial intelligence, whose growth "in viral progression" is impacting the world of video games at different levels.

Until now, degree studies included courses on artificial intelligence dedicated to explaining concepts related to this technology, such as Behavior trees, also called karma systems, which control the player's behavior and provide content or ad hoc content modifications. 

Also the concepts of Pathfinding, which refers to finding paths and generating movements for the entities controlled by the system, or State machines, which is used to design algorithms, are explained in the classes dedicated to artificial intelligence.
