The CADESC (Board of Directors of the Centre for Analysis and Development of the Social Economy of Catalonia) was created with the mission of becoming a space of reference and excellence in research, innovation and business support in the field of the social economy in Catalonia and Spain.

El CADESC aims to provide applied scientific knowledge to strategic decision-making and the design and implementation of public policies. This purpose is specified in four main objectives: generation of applied knowledge, foresight and innovation, development of the business fabric, and articulation of collaboration networks. Its president will be Juanjo Llopis, general director of the Caixa Enginyers Group

According to Eloi Serrano, director of CADESC and the Chair of Social Economy at TecnoCampus, "CADESC tries to promote the social economy, providing knowledge that guides public policies to strengthen the fabric and value the business model of the social economy. The history of the Chair and the consolidated collaboration with the promoters of the think tank represent a very solid basis for the launch of the initiative, a pioneer in Spain."

In a context defined by the challenges of the green transition, digitalization, financialization and global geopolitical tensions, the creation of CADESC responds to the need to strengthen the role of the social economy in achieving inclusive and sustainable economic development, providing companies and entities in the sector with greater analytical capacity and influence on the economic and political agenda. Consolidation of the TecnoCampus Social Economy ecosystem

The launch of CADESC is part of the TecnoCampus Chair in Social Economy, which this year celebrates 10 years of experience, reinforcing the university center's commitment to research and the promotion of this business model.

Juanjo Llopis, director of the Caixa Enginyers Group and president of CADESC, pointed out: "I want to thank Tusgsal, Cooperativa Àuria and TecnoCampus de Mataró for their trust, through the Chair of Social Economy, for choosing me as president of CADESC, a much-needed initiative to promote the social economy with the pursuit of excellence and expert support, providing knowledge that guides public policies and strengthens the business fabric throughout the territory."
