La Round table "A different way of telling stories: the 'comic book' and its influence on popular culture", organized by the Library of Catalonia on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, was attended by Professor Jordi Ojeda, from the Department of Technology, in an activity that is part of the dissemination project "Comics, Science and Technology" that he directs and which aims to promote scientific and technological vocations in young people and promote debate and the dissemination of science in society.

The event was moderated by Antoni Guiral, critic, popularizer, screenwriter and comic editor, and was attended by Paco Baena, photographer, publicist and specialist in popular graphic culture of the first half of the 20th century, and Jorge Gard, collector, writer and popularizer specializing in comic books.

The talk was a parallel activity of the exhibition "A fascinating journey through the 'comic book'" which can be visited in the Exhibition Hall of the Biblioteca de Catalunya until November 22. The exhibition serves to publicize the important donation made in 2021 by the collector Jorge Gard, specifically of more than twenty-four thousand copies of more than a thousand comic book titles published in Mexico and that he had collected over forty years. Ojeda highlighted the importance of private initiative in order to archive and maintain cultural heritage, in this case, associated with the publishing sector, and the importance of the public administration valuing this material and facilitating its dissemination and access.
