Professor Miguel Guillén publishes a book on the democratic transition in Mataró

Professor Miguel Guillén has published a book about the democratic transition in Mataró. The volume, entitled "A big-headed walk through the democratic transition in Mataró (1973-1982)" has been published by the local magazine Capgròs.

Professor Miguel Guillén publishes a book on the democratic transition in Mataró The book was presented on May 14th at an event that took place at the Pompeu Fabra Library in the capital of Maresme.

The book collects different articles and reports published by the author in the Mataró digital newspaper Capgròs about events of the democratic transition, framed between the years 1973 and 1982. 

It begins with an article explaining how the death of Carrero Blanco was experienced in Mataró and concludes with the victory of the PSOE in the 1982 general elections, also from the point of view of what happened in the city. In addition, there is an unpublished chapter dedicated to the different times that the people of Mataró had the opportunity to vote during the transition. 

The publication has a prologue by Salvador Milà, who was Minister of the Environment of the Generalitat de Catalunya and Councillor for Urban Planning at Mataró City Council, and an epilogue by Manuel Mas, Mayor of Mataró between 1983 and 2004 and Member of Congress between 2004 and 2011. 

Both people, along with the Mataró journalist Vern Bueno, accompanied Miguel Guillén at the presentation event, which was attended by a hundred people.
