Today, Thursday, January 13, the IIª Research Day of the Tecnocampus Mataró-Maresme. The aim of the day was to bring together all the research activity carried out within the framework of the new science and innovation park.

The research in the TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme park is carried out, on the one hand, by means of the university research groups organized through the university centers (the Polytechnic University School of Mataró; the Maresme University School and the School of Sciences of health). They are groups working in fields such as acoustics, signal processing and biometrics, economics or tourism.

In addition, the TecnoCampus carries out a lot of research activity linked to the business world. This is the case of research related to smart fabrics (managed by the CETEMMSA technology center).

One of the strategic sectors that articulates much of the park's research is that of ICT applied to health. The Center of Competences for Integration (CCI) or CITAP are examples of centers that carry out transfer projects in the field of health, which with the collaboration of institutions such as the Fundació TIC Salut or the Fundació El Maresme has allowed carry out projects to improve the management of the health network or facilitate the integration of people with mental or physical disabilities into society.

This IIª Research Day has also had two guest presentations. On the one hand, Mr. Arcadi Vilert (pictured), from Mataró Energia Sostenible,  has presented the Green Tube project, one of the leading projects in renewable energy; and on the other hand, Dr. Xevi Roca, from the UPC's Numerical Computing laboratory, has presented his latest studies on video game technology applied to computer simulation, a project he is carrying out together with two professors at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
