The aim is to position public procurement as a key tool for economic and social transformation in the territory. 

On Monday, June 2, the Center for Studies for Strategic and Responsible Procurement of Catalonia was presented at TecnoCampus, a collective initiative promoted by the Chair of Social Economy of TecnoCampus, Facto Cooperativa, L'Escamot and the Ariadna association, with the aim of positioning public procurement as a key tool for economic and social transformation in the territory. 

With a determined focus on Strategic and Responsible Public Procurement (CPER), this center works to promote its value, make its potential visible and strengthen the role of Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) entities in this area, promoting a fairer, more rooted and transformative economy. 

The presentation event consisted of a day that took place throughout the morning to debate Strategic and Responsible Public Procurement. First, the symposium was opened by Sergi Morales, Councilor for Employment, Business and Social Economy and Secretary of the Network of Municipalities for the Social and Solidarity Economy (XMESS), and Eloi Serrano, Director of the Chair of Social Economy at TecnoCampus. 

Next, the Report on the State of Strategic Public Procurement in Catalonia was presented, by Miguel Guillén, professor and project coordinator of the Chair of Social Economy, Laura Rafecas, head of the Consulting and Projects Area of ​​Facto Cooperativa, and Marc Vilanova, consultant in financing and public procurement of Facto Cooperativa. 

A round table discussion then took place to discuss real cases around Strategic and Responsible Public Procurement. The participants were Albert Vidal, managing director of the El Maresme Foundation; Roser Ramos, coordinator of Coop Maresme (Ateneu Cooperatiu del Maresme); Lorenzo Álvarez, deputy director of Financial Management of TUSGSAL; Álvaro Porro, director of Social Economy and Cooperatives of Barcelona Activa; Pepe Reche, partner of Musicoop, and Anna Nicolau, co-director of the Service Development Area of ​​Suara Cooperativa.
