The Espai Mataró Cuida-CareCityLab has organized a day to commemorate the International Day of Care and Carers, with the aim of recognizing the essential work of caregivers and presenting the "Mataró et cuida" Card, an initiative of the Mataró City Council that will offer specific resources and advantages for this group.
The TecnoCampus Chair in Aging and Quality of Life participated with the workshop "Learn to relax and take care of yourself", given by physiotherapist and professor in the Health Department Àlex Castán, who offered guidelines for tackling the task of caring with better physical and emotional well-being.
The activity has been the advancement of training workshops that the Chair, in collaboration with the Mataró City Council, is promoting this November as part of the Mataró Ciutat Cuidadora project. The program, coordinated by Esther Cabrera, director of the Chair, includes two modules: the first, dedicated to basic care for adults, addresses aspects such as hygiene, nutrition and technical aids for mobility; and the second, focused on self-care under the title "Caring for myself to care well", deals with emotional management, physical activity and relaxation.
With this initiative, the TecnoCampus Chair in Aging and Quality of Life and the Mataró City Council reaffirm their commitment to the health, well-being and social recognition of caregivers.
