On the 16th and 17th of November, the TecnoChallenge was held, a weekend dedicated to solving real challenges of the Entrepreneurial Community of the TecnoCampus.
In the tenth edition, TecnoChallenge (which in previous editions was called the Weekend Challenge) again set itself the objective of developing the entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills of students, enhancing the company-university link and finding innovative solutions to three challenges of the University and the business park.
The challenge proposed by the startup White Jacket consisted of the design of an inclusive and quality physical or virtual shopping experience for people with severe visual impairment. The challenge posed by another company, Moodest, focused on making it easier for psychological and therapeutic support teams to effectively monitor their patients outside of consultation. As for the university challenge, corresponding to Antena TrenLab, it was focused on improving the experience of traveling by train to make it more comfortable and personalized.
TecnoChallenge brought together about 50 undergraduate and master's students from the four departments of the TecnoCampus university center. On Saturday 9 November, the 10 multidisciplinary teams were formed, their members met for the first time and were able to choose together the challenge they would develop during the event. On the weekend of November 16 and 17, the teams met again and worked on their solutions following the Design Thinking methodology, to present them at the end of the Sunday with a video, a Google Sites and a pitch, before the judges of each challenge.
The winning teams were:
Each team won 500 euros and the possibility to implement their solution alongside those responsible for the challenges. In addition, three awards were given, one for the "TecnoChallenger", awarded to the Computer Engineering student Albert Rosich, and another for the "TecnoChallenger", received by Judith López, student of the Double ADE + Marketing . The third recognition, "The Green Table", went to the Smart Sense team, which stood out for its commitment to sustainability, and which was made up of Carolina Vargas (Master's in Entrepreneurship and Innovation), Ferran Quera (Bachelor in Media Audiovisuals), Giuliana Arguelles (Computer Engineering) and Marta Ventura (Double Marketing and Digital Communities).
Anahí Moyano, head of University Entrepreneurship at TecnoCampus, highlighted the excellence, commitment and entrepreneurial and community spirit of the students who have developed innovative solutions with a triple impact (economic, social and environmental). Albert Rosich, chosen TecnoChallenger and member of the winning team of the White Jacket challenge, commented: "This edition we have had better challenges, more level and everyone has been involved to the maximum".
The days were facilitated by teacher and expert Ana Rodera, alongside Narciso Ruiz and Josemi Heredia, from Collective Innovation. They joined, as mentors, teachers and alumni from the four departments and staff from the Transfer, Innovation and Business area of TecnoCampus.
The event was made possible thanks to the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council and the Mataró City Council, and the collaboration of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Urban Mobility.
