The professor of the Department of Technology of the TecnoCampus and coordinator of the FI4.0 Research Group, Virginia Espinosa, attended the IEEE International Carnahan Conference on Security Technology (ICCST) from October 14 to 17, which in this edition was held at the School of Data Science of the University of Texas, as an executive member of the aforementioned congress, collaborating in the previous process of peer-reviewing of the articles presented and moderating the session dedicated to the fields of Sensors and IoT.

The ICCST is an International Conference sponsored by the Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society of the IEEE, focused on generating spaces for reflection among the scientific community in the field of advanced security technologies in the field of physical, cyber and electronic security, including research, development, systems engineering, evaluation and case studies essentially, to address the set of current and future challenges facing humanity. 

Professor Espinosa has been an active contributor to this conference for over 25 years, presenting and publishing papers in the fields of Biometric Face Identification in the Visible, Near Infrared and Thermal Infrared Spectrums and Fingerprints through Linear and Non-Linear Image Processing Techniques, including Artificial Intelligence. This set of contributions earned her the John S. Jackson Award in 2012 (Boston, USA).
