The III Update Conference on Gynecological Endocrinology took place at the TecnoCampus Congress Center, organized by FecunMed-Eugin, TecnoCampus and the GEMA Medical Centers. This third edition brought together health professionals with the aim of updating knowledge and discussing the latest developments in the field of gynecological endocrinology. The first edition, held in 2019, was dedicated to fertility preservation, and the second edition, in 2022, to endometriosis. In this third edition, the conference is consolidated with a hundred in-person attendees.
During the event, which had the support of the Spanish Fertility Society and the Catalan Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology, key topics such as hormonal therapies in assisted reproduction cycles and menopause, the role of endocrine disruptors, hormonal contraception, ovarian rejuvenation, obesity and female fertility, ovarian insufficiency or the reality of trans people, among others, were addressed.
The inaugural session was attended by Laura Seijo, deputy mayor of Mataró City Council; Meritxell Puyané, director of the TecnoCampus Health Department, and Xavier Saura, coordinator of the day and senior medical consultant and founder of FecunMed-Eugin. In their speeches, the importance of promoting debate spaces to share knowledge and experiences between professionals in the sector was highlighted.
In the presentations, the latest advances related to menopause were shared, such as hormonal therapy by Sònia Sánchez, menopause reference at ASSIR Dr. Robert, or the neurocognitive and psychological changes developed by psychology professor Joan Deus. Likewise, Maider Ripero, medical director of FecunMed-Eugin, gave an innovative perspective on hormonal treatments in assisted reproduction cycles, highlighting the evolution in personalized therapies.
