Alella aspires to become a point of reference in the field of community health with the development of the Àgora Alella-La Miralda project. A space for innovation, training, research and entrepreneurship promoted by Alella City Council, the Can Ruti Campus and the TecnoCampus that will be located in the future Business Park of La Miralda, a strategic sector of the municipality that has begun in process urbanistically with the aim of becoming a high-value axis of economic activity in the quaternary sector.

For years, the City Council has been working with TecnoCampus and the Can Ruti Campus in the design of a project that was presented last March 16. During the event, all the parties involved signed a protocol of intentions in which the commitments and development phases of the project will be specified.

The event was attended by Marc Almendro, mayor of Alella; Jordi Ara, manager of the ICS metropolitan North; Josep Lluís Checa, general director of TecnoCampus; Javier Lafuente, Rector of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Jordi Barretina, director of the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute. The conclusion was made by Joaquim Nadal, Councilor for Research and Universities.

Àgora Alella-La Miralda is projected as a space for innovation, research, training and entrepreneurship in the field of health and community well-being. A space that generates knowledge and creates synergies between science, business, public administration, academia and social action. A multidisciplinary project to address in a transversal way the health and well-being of the community by acting in prevention, health promotion, assistance and intervention and rehabilitation.
